Astronomy Night

Spread the love

Astronomy Night was held on Thursday, January 19 at Skyline Gila River in the gym in cooperation with the Arizona Science Center and the East Valley Astronomy Club. The event was a complete success according to all who attended the schoolwide event. “It was really fun. I got to see Saturn, Jupiter and stars!” said one enthusiastic student.

Another student said “the activities were great. I really liked building the straw rocket.” Each of the 11 stations provided to students had families completely engaged in activities. Both students and families were enthusiastic about the stations, telescope viewing and delicious dinner provided.

The raffle of 2 telescopes was a highlight for many, particularly Isiah Laws (8th grade) and De’Andre June (7th grade) who were the lucky winners of their very own telescopes. All in all, over 200 people from the community participated and an enjoyable night was had by all.
