Gila River’s Annual First Responder Luncheon

Spread the love

Every year the student council of Skyline Gila River hosts a breakfast or luncheon for First Responders within the Gila River and Chandler area. They chose to host during the week of Veteran’s Day to thank those who serve our communities, risk their lives, and sacrifice for us each and every day.

Quincy Randall welcoming everyone to the luncheon.

This year, we had the Gila River Fire Department and the Gila River Emergency Medical Services attend our luncheon. Student council sat and talked with the fire department and EMS during the luncheon and had the opportunity to learn all about what these two important departments do for our communities. Ms. Ardessa and her team prepared a beautiful meal with a main course of fresh prepared juice with pineapple chucks, pasta, garlic bread and salad. For dessert she prepared angel food cake, strawberries and whip cream.

After the luncheon was over, the Gila River Fire Department was kind enough to show the student council around their fire truck. Students had the opportunity to hold tanks, learn about the equipment they use on the job and hold the hose. Our hope is that in the coming years as we grow, more and more first responder’s will join our event!

Thank you to the Gila River Fire Department and Gila River Emergency Medical Services for taking time out of their busy day to visit us!
