Ms. Sklar, recipient of Intel 40 for 40 STEAM Grant

Congratulations to our fifth and sixth grade Math & Science Teacher Ms. Sklar for being named a recipient of the “Intel 40 for 40 STEAM Grant”!  Ms. Sklar’s project, Engineering Our Future was among 44 teachers in the State from a pool of 434 applicants to be chosen. (Ms. Sklar is pictured above in the back left corner in red sweater.)

Her project, Engineering Our Future began during the 2018-19 school year. Ms. Sklar led the Skyline Gila River Robotics teams in the annual Robotics Competition held at Arizona State University. The Robotics team was set to make a return appearance to the competition this year, however the competition was postponed. However, we are still so proud of Ms. Sklar and her students for all their hard work!

The Intel 40 for 40 Grant is available to any full-time certified Pre K-12 grade teacher working in an Arizona district public school, public charter, or Bureau of Indian Education school is eligible to apply. Grants are open to classroom teachers of any content area including Grade-level teachers, Arts, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Physical Education.
